An interaction program on local government operation and leadership development was held in Dhangadhi on January 3 and 4, organized by the Sudurpashchim Province Research and Training Institute. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah. The program saw the participation of provincial ministers, former chief ministers, members of the provincial assembly, the chief secretary, secretaries of ministries, members of the provincial policy and plan commission, as well as representatives of local governments. While speaking at the event, the chief minister stated that some of the issues faced by local levels could be addressed immediately through a dual dialogue at the forum.It was expressed that this program will help identify paths for improvement for the upcoming days, facilitate exchange of best practices, initiate a new dimension to strengthen federalism, and also make attempts to convey a positive message to other provinces. The program was facilitated by the Chief Secretary of the provincial government, Executive Director, Auditor General, Chairman of the Natural Resources and Finance Commission, Chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority at the provincial level, and experts Dr. Khimlal Devkota, Kashiraj Dahal, and Dr. Somlal Suvedi on various contemporary issues. The event was organized by the institution in coordination and collaboration with the Nepal Municipality Association and the National Association of Rural Municipalities of Nepal.The institution expresses heartfelt gratitude to all the supportive hands.
