The Capacity Development Program on Transformational Leadership for Deputy Mayors and Vice-Chairs of Bajhang, Darchula, and Kanchanpur districts, organized by the Sudurpashchim Province Research and Training Institute in Punna, Doti, was completed in Dhangadhi. In this program, the Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Mr. Kamal Bahadur Shah, emphasized the need for Deputy Mayors and Vice-Chairs to collectively work to operate local governments effectively and improve service delivery, assuring that the provincial government will provide support and assistance, and that comprehensive development of the province is possible through joint efforts from all. The program started on Magh 21 and concluded on the 23rd. Legal expert Kashiraj Dahal, Prof. Dr. Hemraj Pant, and Keshav Datta Bhatt facilitated the program. A total of 28 Deputy Mayors and Vice-Chairs from the three districts participated in the program.

The deputy mayor and vice-chairpersons expressed the opinion that such capacity development programs not only improve performance but also clarify roles. In the program, the deputy mayor and vice-chairpersons submitted a written 9-point common commitment to the Chief Minister with their signatures.
